How to Use:
Supplies You’ll Need:
- A medium to large heat-safe bowl or a yoni steaming seat
- A pot with a lid
- 2–4 cups of filtered or spring water
- 1/2 to 1 cup of dried herbs
- A towel or blanket to wrap around yourself
- A comfortable chair, stool with a hole, or a steaming seat
- A long skirt or robe to trap steam (optional)
- Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Prepare the Herbal Infusion:
- Bring 2–4 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
- Add 1/2 to 1 cup of dried herbs to the pot.
- Cover and let steep for 5–10 minutes to release the medicinal properties.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly (you want warm, not scalding steam).
Set Up Your Steaming Area:
- Place the bowl on a sturdy surface like the floor or inside a steam-safe seat.
- If using a yoni steam chair or stool, place the steaming pot underneath it.
- Make sure the steam is warm, not too hot, to avoid burns.
Position Yourself Comfortably:
- Remove underwear and sit or kneel over the steam source.
- Drape a long skirt, blanket, or towel around your waist to trap steam.
- Relax your body and breathe deeply.
- Steam for 10-30 Minutes:
- Close your eyes, focus on your breath, and set an intention (e.g., healing, fertility, self-love).
- If the steam feels too hot, adjust your position or let the herbs cool slightly.
Aftercare:
- Dry off and rest for at least 30 minutes before showering or engaging in activities.
- Drink plenty of water or herbal tea to support hydration.
- Wear warm clothing to keep your body cozy.
When to Use
Best used one week before your period to encourage smooth menstrual flow and ease cramping. Can also be used after your period to cleanse residual stagnation and support womb balance.
